Gore deal follows Murdoch into Arab TV

The news that Al Gore chose to sell his Current TV to Al Jazeera, which some think of as Muslim Brotherhood TV, recently has raised eyebrows. But what few people realize is that Fox chief Rupert Murdoch already co-owns what amounts to a Muslim Brotherhood channel in the Middle East.

The channel is Al Risala, which translates into “the (Islamic) message.” It was launched in 2006 by Saudi prince Talal bin Alwaleed, the nephew of the King of Saudi Arabia and a Murdoch business associate who also owns a 7 percent stake in Murdoch’s News Corp., the parent company of Fox News and other U.S. media outlets.

Based in Kuwait, Al Risala is run by general director Tareq Al-Suwaidan.

Al-Suwaidan widely is reported to be a leader of the Muslim Brotherhood in Kuwait. He also is an unindicted co-conspirator in the terrorism financing trial of the Holy Land Foundation.

Another member of the Al Risala advisory committee is Abdullah Omar Naseef, whom former federal prosecutor Andrew C. McCarthy has described as “a major Muslim Brotherhood figure involved in the financing of al-Qaida.”

and Murdoch’s wsj spoke as always in support of the Saudi+Gulf States+Turkey backed regime change agenda against Assad. Why? Because he was a dictator like them? No. Because he is an Alawite Muslim, a branch considered infidels by most fundamentalist Muslims, like the Saudis. And because he ran a secular government that did not even require the president to be a Muslim, and he had no Sharia laws. To them he is an apostate. Why has he been friends with Iran? Because he knew the top Sunni leaders were (a) not his friends and (b) slowly working to back up civil strife against him.
