It’s long distance. But not very stealthy. And it has been flying CAS missions for decades. Great loiter time and a huge payload of precision guided munitions.

I read that during the Korean War after air superiority was achieved and most significant targets eliminated, B-29s would occasionally chase individual NORK vehicles down roads.

Since I am the only person here who has designed a CAS apron... CAS has to be forward positioned, that is why A-10’s, F-16s and Strike Eagles are the favorites to use. Anyway a B-1 will never fit between the metalithic barriers.;)
