You really think it would be in the USA’s best interest to keep CA from seceding? How many young people have to die in your war of aggression against the country of CA? How may of us in the other 49 are going to support your invasion?
The states of the Confederacy asked the same questions. Yet. the Union spared no amount of destruction, no amount of deaths and 150 years later, is STILL punishing the Confederate States.
So, if we defend the sanctity of the union when a state or states secede, then we must do so EVERY time it is attempted. You know, that rule of law thing.
Frankly, I could care less whether California secedes or not. I do care that the law applies to all.
It’s not about California. It’s about the union.
It’s an abstraction. These silicon Valley types would not lay down their lives for this, or perhaps anything. They think they will somehow negotiate it.
If they seriously try secession, they should be jailed. Period. There is no secession from the union without ending the union.
I’m for preserving the union. You should be too.

If you are for dissolution of the union, and actively engaged in such activities, you do belong in jail. Is that so hard to understand?
California remains part of the union. There is no other option.

You are in serious need of attitude adjustment.
Actually none; because California isn’t worth it. I’m only pointing out the hypocrisy when they fought and died to force the Confederate States back into the Union.
For all I care, Mexico can take it back. For all the positives that CA may have, the illegals and socialism are far greater negatives.
