North AL had an ice storm back in the early 2000’s. . We drove from here to Lewisburg, TN to get my mil and drove back here and then to Memphis. 72 was a sheet of ice and had one lane each way open and the ice on trees, shrubs, etc sparkled like diamonds. Very nerve wrecking. Glad my husband was driving. Nothing worse than driving on ice. My grandson was already in Memphis and was spending his time helping people who ran off the roads . Very interesting.

The major highways were all awful. 70, 44, all of ‘em...turned into parking lots for miles is what the radio was saying. Just terrible for everyone.
