Those in the pic are obviously a southern family in front of a big veranda home

Could be Missouri or southern Midwest too

The actual family was mom dad and kid in winter haven Florida which still has southerners

But their last name is Peña

Some of the firearms in that family photo are pointed in rather questionable ways. I understand that the image is a two dimensional projection of a three dimensional scene, but still...

It's a case of a blogger trying to get hits. He's hyped it up, but it's really just a pass through to a you tube of the local news.

Btw, for those who might not know, anytime a story pops up like this, accompanied by staged photos such as this, the story will usually be embellished, exaggerated and or made bigger than it is.

If these folks would have been interviewed for this story 2 hours after the actual event, the story would likely be very different and much more accurate.

Why is the Grandmother holding a gun to her grandson’s head?

You would have to listen to the video. A 40 year old guy broke into the back door of the home, a family member fired a warning shot and he continued to enter the home. All three family members mom, dad and son armed themselves and two of them put the intruder down in the kitchen.

I imagine the shooters were mom and dad. Cops said that when the intruder failed to take heed to the warning shot the shooting was surely justified.

No claim was made that the picture was taken at the house in question. Since the “grandma” is in the figure, one might theorize it’s her house. Regardless, the location where the photo was taken isn’t gemane to the story.
