As if there wasnt enough controversy surrounding abortion these days (and taking away womens basic rights to have ownership over their bodies), Oklahoma has plans to force hospitals, nursing homes, restaurants, and public schools to post pro-life signs inside restrooms directing pregnant women where to receive services (like finding an adoption agency) as part of an effort to reduce abortions in the state. Um, what?

“...as part of an effort to reduce abortions in the state. Um, what?”
Because reducing the number of abortions is shockingly foolish, right?
It’s amazing that these people say such things so easily and then they’re offended when people like myself think the world would be a better place if they were hauled out, put up against a wall, and shot.
(and taking away womens basic rights to have ownership over their bodies)
ie- the ‘right’ to murder anything that might cause an inconvenience
In Ireland they put signs in public restrooms that had an image of young people dancing and a legend that read... “Everyone is out and about...including Chlamydia!”
There is a hillarious youtube where this comes up in an appearance of Robin Williams on Craig Ferguson...it’s the funniest youtube clip I have ever seen!

womens basic rights to have ownership over their bodies
They own their own bodies, they do NOT own the bodies
of their children which have DNA that is from two parents.
If women own their offspring, then child support is not
required.
Logic, it’s frightening stuff.
Yup - it's been identified as 100% the cause of liberal head explosions.
Growing up I used to watch movies from the 40s
and initially came to the conclusion that
dancing causes pregnancy.
Of course when I was a teenager the meme was that
the Twist was, “the vertical fulfillment of a
horizontal desire” too.
Forcing or allowing?
I don’t like that the government has to force anyone to do anything, this is just more big government
I am against it on that principle alone

There’s an old religious joke that goes...
Why don’t ______s make love standing up?
Someone might accuse them of dancing.
The woman’s “right to their bodies” in regards to abortion was a phrase invented by the Marquis de Sade, albeit in French.
That was long before ultrasounds could show that it was indeed a baby and not a blob of flesh that they were destroying.
Ah, the old we want to murder our offspring and not be blamed for it argument. I find these people DISGUSTING.
Kvetching with Kveller.
Well, it seems to me if Christian Crisis Pregnancy Centers by law now have to provide abortion provider information upon request, why shouldn’t Planned Barrenhood and state agencies be required to provide for the opposite alternative to death by abortion - Life!
So your in favor of extremely post partum abortions?
If a woman doesn’t want a baby she shouldn’t engage in the activities that makes babies. Once that baby is on the assembly line it has as much right to life as she has. From the very getting of it a baby has a uniquely identifiable DNA separate from hers and is its own person.
“So your in favor of extremely post partum abortions?”
Yup.
Down here in Texas we do that in Huntsville a lot.
I’m with you. I frequently refer to them as “retroactive abortions”.
An expression we used to use in my prior life was, “There are some people who really need to be at room temperature.” And if I may paraphrase a statement made by an unidentified Marine Scout Sniper in response to the question, “What do you feel when you pull the trigger on another human being?” His answer: “Recoil.”
bump for later
