No longer, but the Government Motors name will last much longer than the period of government ownership, especially when you consider that Ford didn’t need a bailout.

GM is grateful for having been saved, but the government lost about $10 billion on the deal.

If GM, through their Cadillac division, is interested in acting as a propaganda arm of the government, that could be considered a payback of sorts, and a whiff of fascism.

As always, when something like this comes to light, the apology is not for doing it, it is for getting caught.

Correction: GM (and govt) is grateful for having been saved, but the government TAXPAYERS lost about $10 billion on the deal.

Not to mention the stock/share-holders getting screwed over, the lack of authority for such a bail-out, etc.
