Our ancestors preferred it, so say the scientists.
The OTHER white meat.
It’s weird how horsemeat is still taboo in much of the West today, because in the 8th century the Vatican banned the Germanic pagan ritual of slaughtering and eating horses as a means to promote Christianity.
Somewhere some little snowflake of a brony is weeping.
it is herbivore and therefore at the top of the menu.
Trigger warning.
“But dogs can be eaten, you know. So you would eat dogs that come from a shelter that are going to be killed anyway? I ask her. Yes. Exactly, she says.”
When you’re starving and don’t have choices, you’ll eat anything. My sister-in-law is German, and said her family once ate cat meat during WW2.
My preschool daughter would be horrified. Eating Twilight Sparkle and Pinkie Pie?!?
One time I went into one of those Chevaline butcher shops in Geneva. And found out all the meat was from horses! Ran the heck out of there.
My little pony, my little pony, being delicious with every bite.
( Sung to the 80’s mlp theme)
Back in the 60s and 70s they sold horse meat in the grocery stores in upstate NY. It’s what my mother always fed the cats, and she was a horse girl herself.
What!?! They ate an entire CAT!?!
Lord knows, I’m allergic to cats...
maybe that’s why I can never eat a whole one. Ya s’pose?

I lived in China for years. I learned to just not ask. I know I’ve eaten dog, dolphin, sea turtle, bear and whale that were served at various banquets I had to attend for one reason or another.
There is a reason that dolphins are called sea pigs. Yeah, I thought it was pork until goofed up and asked.
No No No No no.
Yeah, they eat all sorts of things and sometimes not only the meat part.
Hillary the horse reminds me of Caspers chubby friend Little Lotta. Comic Book former comic book collectors know who she is. This was before I “graduated” to DC Superman comics.
The name "Chevaline" was more than just a hint.
