Trump to Appoint Global Warming Skeptic to Head EPA
When you have to kill a man, it costs nothing to be polite.
Winston Churchill
It would appear Mr Gore was rather mistaken in his assessment of how his meeting with Mr Trump went.
I am beginning to believe Trump is far far far smart then any of his foes. I think we are going to be surprised at the depths beneath his public persona.
I, for one, can see I vastly underestimated him.
Only time will tell but I think he may have that rare trait other great Presidents have had. The ability to tell someone to go to hell with a smile and a pat on the back.
One notes that the appointment of Jeff Sessions as Attorney General might be in the same mold, that is, an appointment which runs contrary to his statements backing away from the prosecution of Hillary Clinton, a promise so often made on the campaign trail. I criticized that statement as a threat to the rule of law but Jeff Sessions in the slot of Attorney General is very reassuring indeed.
The rest of Trump's appointments can be characterized as acceptable to inspired.
He is off to a brilliant start, his favorables are up, his negatives are down, Hillary is shuffling off the stage of history with deteriorating numbers, the world seems gradually to be righting itself.
I think you are correct, I think Trump does have the potential to be a great president if he can finesse his "allies" in the Senate and in the House.
So far, so good but not yet in the class of Winston Churchill.
