We don’t get stuff like that, especially on broadcast TV, because of our fear of sexuality. For an example, Man About the House had the male inhabitant perpetually trying to seduce the females. The US version, Three’s Company, was so terrified of that, they defined John Ritter down to near-homosexuality to cut any intimation of lustful pursuits.
