Several people suffered severe allergic reactions to cedar dust the sculpture constantly shed, and a dozen workers were hospitalized... One employee required an 11-day hospital stay and none have been able to return to work at the new field office.

Satire site?
The sentence would mean the sculpture gained intelligence and selected the one person to make sick. Why it’d think the nurse would be a threat is open to conjecture.

They probably could have recovered about $200 a cord with a Craigslist ad...

750k? What a waste!
Hell, I’d only charge 1/2 that and give them one of those glass bowls with marbles and sticks you see at the Dr.’s office.

Where’s the EPA when you actually need them?
This should have been discussed when she submitted the plan for her project. Even when not rooted into the ground, wood is not a static material like plastic or acrylic. Wood continues to develop and change long after all the resin seems to have dried up.

Give it a couple coats of clear coat. They might need the artist approval to modify the work?
