I knew a lady who used to have problems with them in her area. She would leave bible tracts and new testaments out for them. Far as she knew they took them.

I’d buy some fish, grind it up, sprinkle liberally on the sidewalk. Nobody likes the smell of dead fish, not even desperate johns and hookers.

My dad was an NYPD cop in the 50s and 60s in the 41st precinct in the Bronx. Better known as Fort Apache.
The hookers plied there trade right by the precinct house on Simpson Street.
Not to flaunt their criminal activity to the cops.....but for safety. They had a certain amount of protection from the cops in a neighborhood that was not safe to walk through much past that area.
