How James Mattis As Defense Secretary Could Bust Our Deathly Political Correctness About Islam
The Federalist ^ | 30 Nov, 2016 | M.G. Oprea

Is political Islam in America’s best interests? This question should be central to our strategy of fighting ISIS and Islamist terrorism in general. Yet it’s one that many political leaders would rather not answer, because of our politically correct climate. But since Trump’s transition team announced last week that it’s considering retired Gen. James Mattis for secretary of defense, this reluctance might fade.

In a speech given at the Heritage Foundation last year, Mattis spoke about America’s position vis à vis political Islam. Rather than equivocating on the matter in order to avoid saying something uncomfortable or politically incorrect, Mattis simply pointed out that America needs to make a decision about its stance toward this ideology.

Recall that political Islam, or Islamism, is a movement within Islam: it works toward the increasing implementation of Islamic law and values in all areas of life—usually via state control—in order to make Islam a dominant force in the world.

Why We Don’t Talk About Islamism

Mattis’ suggestion—which sounds like a basic element of defense strategy—has been surprisingly neglected in the years since 9/11. The U.S. tends to deal with Islamism on a case-by-case basis. And so long as any particular group or political entity doesn’t have a direct and obvious link to terrorism, we tend to give them a pass. Even then, this is sometimes too high of a bar, as is the case with the Muslim Brotherhood and associated groups.

Why is the GOOD of Christianity ignored by the left, but the continued evil of islam is celebrated?

Recall that 0bama gave his first presidential speech at an islam university in Egypt and praised islam. But, when he gave a speech at Notre Dame he had all crosses covered.

Islam is in no one’s best interest.

No exceptions.

I did a Google search for anti-semitism and his name. I got some hits, but the articles had nothing. I don’t know much about him so if you have evidence of antisemitism you should post it. The left will call him that or a rascist or a kkk supporter, but they do that to conservatives they fear the most. It is almost never eveen partially true. It is just Saul Alynsky rule 13. Just know that liberals lie.

Saul Alynski Rule 13:“Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions."

In other words, lie and do anything it takes to demonize your opponent. Wow, I really dislike being lied to!

I do not mind being lied to. It is when I catch the sob that lied to me in their lies that ticks me off.

This is good. We need to address the fact that Islam is an anethma to the US Constitution! It should be rendered harmless or banded altogether.

Containment works and the US, Russia, and China, combined could do a damn good job of containment. With both the US and Russia having oil and gas to sell above and beyond their own needs there's no reason to keep pretending IzLame is less dangerous than Communism was. The fact is that it's far worse when you get right down to it.

They don't just want a to rule, they want to rule 7th Century ignorant masses who are totally dependent on the ruling elite. Destroying modern society is part and parcel of their creed which is why you never hear anything good about Izlame except how great Damascus or some other single city was for a century or so until a fundamentalist Muzzie took over and tore it all down.

Muzzies have been slaughtering Christians and one another for fourteen hundred years. That's long enough. Put an end to the whole mess by letting the Satanic bastards kill one another off. If they're contained, have their cash elsewhere impounded just like we did with Russia and China when they went Communist, and don't have the billions from oil exports they count on, that's what they'll do. Turn on one another and kill one another by the millions.

Egypt, Iran, Jordan, there's hope for them. Syria and Lebanon can probably be saved from the Muzzie scum but it's touch and go. Everyone else including the Paks and Turks is suspect and needs to be contained just like we contained the Russians. Start by kicking Turkey out of NATO for invading another sovereign nation.

That was the rationale for the first Iraq war, why do the Turks get a pass?

Unfortunately, Mattis has been quoted as calling Israel and apartheit state. Not the kind of values that we want to see in a Secretary of Defense. I expect that there will be times when Israel is going to need emergency military assistance, and I would not want someone with that perspective to be a key man in the evaluation process.

Disqualified, as far as I am concerned.

Check out the fascinating and horrifying story of the Theranos fraud and sociopath conwoman Elizabeth Holmes
involving among others, Walgreens, Henry Kissinger, George Shultz, James”Mad Dog” Mattis, William H. Frist, Samuel Nunn, William J. Perry, and many other players.

After all the lawsuits are settled and sociopath Elizabeth Holmes is in prison, I hope Michael Lewis writes the story.

Unfortunately, retired general, James Mattis (supposedly being considered by President Trump for SecDef) is seriously
contaminated by his continuing seat on the BoD of the grossly fraudulent Theranos.

Both his initial AND his continuing presence on this board shows EXTREMELY poor judgement. Personally, I wouldn’t want
this old fool anywhere near the Pentagon:

President Trump is going to be horrifically embarrassed if he ever decides to try to get James Mattis confirmed as Sec DoD.

He has a problem with how Israel deals with radical Islamic palestinians. If he doesn’t get that, he doesn’t get our problems with radical islamists.

I mean, we’re going to have a wall, have extreme vetting and deport all these people. That’s just like Israel and maybe even tougher in some ways.

Yes. I don’t want to see another Caspar Weinberger in place.

Thee Department of Defense is significant in our international relationships. The first President Bush used the end of the Gulf War in 1991 as an excuse to deny Israel the missiles that its military establishment believed were necessary, in order to extort participation by Israel in the Madrid Conference that was supposed to bring peace to the Middle East.

Israel’s leftists tried to avoid acting under the thumb of the Bush administration, by engaging in secret and illegal (under Israeli law) negotiations with Arafat and his gang. They entered into what was called the Oslo Accord. The result was renewed terrorism in Israel and a government led by Yitzhak Rabin that seemed indifferent to suffering by Israel’s patriotic right wing (”Let them spin like propellers” was one way that he described the unwillingness of Israelis to become “sacrifices to peace” by being murdered by terrorists).

Israel responds to severe, unreasonable, and unnecessary pressure from the US in irrational ways, and we can’t blame the US Department of Defense for the spiral of common sense and the leftist re-ascendancy in Israel that followed the infamous Madrid Conference. Nevertheless, I do not believe that it would have occurred without the brutal pressures that President Bush’s Department of Defense applied to Israel after the Gulf War.

The Department of Defense is NOT insignificant in our international relationships. That one typographical error undercut my entire argument. Please ignore.
