Cops take a dim view of drifting in the DC Metro area. :)
A few months later he was nice enough though, as we waited in line at Tractor supply, each of us with a couple of bags of chicken feed.
On the twisties (about 2/3 of my commute) cops are not an issue. It’s DEER! I threaded the needle between two of them at 60 mph one time. I mean a foot from each of them on either side of me. Must’ve scared the crap out of them.
I was doing roughly 85 on one of those 55mph back roads last summer at dusk in a long valley and saw a couple of cars speeding toward me in the other direction a couple of turns ahead (about a half mile). When they passed me, I could see they were state troopers. One hit his roof lights just for a second a few hundred yards behind me and I reciprocated by turning on my flashers. Just local boys sayin’ “hi”. :-)
I’ve had a few close calls, but no tickets yet. You get good at spotting police cars where I live. I do have one stretch of road that is nice and flat and has little traffic on the weekends. I can blow the carbon out good if I’m careful. On normal work days every road around here is pretty much locked up solid.
