CARSON CITY Roque Rocky De La Fuente, an independent candidate for president who garnered less than 1 percent of the vote in Nevada, filed late Tuesday for a recount of a sample of the states presidential ballots.
De La Fuente identified 93 precincts to be recounted and paid $14,154.98 to the Secretary of States Office ahead of the 5 p.m. deadline to cover the cost.
In the November election, De La Fuente came in dead last in the presidential contest on the Nevada ballot, even trailing None of these candidates. He received just 2,552 votes, or 0.23 percent. Democratic contender Hillary Clinton won Nevada with 47.9 percent of the vote, beating Republican president-elect Donald Trump by a little over 2 percent.
In a press release Tuesday, De La Fuente said he ran in the Democratic presidential primary, then ran in the general election in various states as an independent and as the nominee of both the Reform Party and the American Delta Party in an effort to champion election reform.
Under state law, the secretary of states office has five days to complete a recount of the precincts requested two each in Carson City, Douglas, Mineral and Nye counties and the rest in Clark County, the states population hub and home to about 2 million people.

Why? To give credence to the meme that they “care” about the vote by recounting a state that went to Hillary? To prepare the ground to accept major vote fraud in the future, because “2016 was such an exercise and nothing was found?”
I believe that Trump actually won Minnesota.
I demand a recount at Hillary’s expense.
It sounds like “Rocky” just wants to find out which of his family members didn’t vote for him. LOL. What a clown.
he must smoke some serious weed...she won that state.
There was probably some serious voter fraud in Minneapolis
And St. Paul, Rochester and Duluth.
Ridiculous.
But, it people wasting their money.
I’d personally buy some incredible booze or wine and waste it that way...
What is the purpose of that?
If the state does not recount the ballots in time for the certification date, does the original certification stand and the electors vote go forward before the count is finished? Or does the unfinished count stop the electors from casting their vote before the December 13 deadline for sending their results to Congress? Would that cancel the state’s electoral count and reduce Trump’s total electoral vote?
One less fear in there, Democrats won Nevada
Roque Rocky” De La Fuente is playing a crap game with the odds not in his favor. If I were him, I would stay away from the gambling tables in Nevada.
The state legislature can just direct its electors where their votes should support and that’s that, if the recounts are not finished by the Electoral College deadline.
Good grief, I don’t even live there and know this. Perhaps some Constitutional Study might be something to do on those slow winter evenings?
Then again, perhaps Nevada has different rules, and their Electoral votes are null and void should the recount not finish in time? Unlikely, I think I’ll stand with my original premise.
Which candidate, not where. DANG, I hate it when I miss stuff like that!
Maybe some Trump surrogate should ask for a recount.
Flipping Minnesota would guarantee a Trump victory even if Hillary Stein succeed in flipping three states.
