Coding is more than teaching a single skill....the base education must be there.....
It’s not like teaching welding.....
Most of the adults that would need re-training in the rust belt would require several years of training to be an effective programmer.....
Better to bring manufacturing and their jobs back to help them.....
Manufacturing jobs aren’t coming back.
I would argue that welders and mechanics and those who worked in factories have the base education and logical ability to learn how to code, and learn quickly.
These are intelligent people who had to learn specific skills, but also had to solve problems when something went wrong.
