I’m just saying, going off half-cocked with accusations and witch hunting will tarnish anything that might actually be there. Freepers are both rightfully skeptical and rightfully concerned. We don’t need this type of infighting.

I just strongly react to claims the whole story is false. It may be. But that doesn’t justify claiming that it’s all a lie as some sort of indisputable fact.
Correct. Also, most of us who are “deniers” are not denying that something inappropriate is going on here - we are denying that it has been proven.
If you and Jim wish to make FR a place where conspiracy theories (of all kinds) are posted and discussed, that’s up to you. But traditionally I think the standard has been higher, and that’s all most of us are trying to point out. We do not like being called stupid or child molesters simply because we expect a higher standard of proof.
Obviously the only actual “proof” would come out in a court of law and we’re not expecting that level of proof. But most of what I’ve seen has been what the X-Files would call “I want to believe”. I’m content to wait and see what develops, if anything. And if the allegations are in fact accurate, then the entire weight of law enforcement should be brought to bear against those responsible.
It does tarnish everybody. The conservative movement doesn’t need whackos peddling conspiracies. I thought maybe there must be something to it - so I watched several of the “smoking gun” PizzaGate videos. I read the “must read” blog posts that supposedly pinpointed all of their evidence. None of it adds up to squat. Lots of creeps, individuals who may be sickos personally (Tony Podesta, talking about you here) - but extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - which is also something the pedo “researchers” adamantly refute - they said you must err to “save the children” - sure, throw 50 people in jail on the OFF chance that there might be a small chance they are connected to a crime. That’s really how we roll here in America. If they actually HAD real evidence, the FBI would in fact be investigating, without a doubt. These nutjobs even think the FBI has its own pedo ring.
