Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein's campaign has notified the Wisconsin Elections Commission that it intends to request a recount of the states presidential vote.
The notification follows days of speculation about potential manipulation of election results after Republican Donald Trump pulled off surprise wins over Democrat Hillary Clinton in several key states including Wisconsin.
Michael Haas of the Wisconsin Elections Commission told the Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism Wednesday that the Stein campaign plans to ask for a recount, although an official petition had not yet been submitted. Deadline to submit the petition is 5 p.m. Friday, Haas said.
According to Steins website, the campaign hopes to raise $2.5 million for recounts in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania where President-elect Trump won upset victories over Clinton, who continues to lead in the popular vote that is still being counted.

Well, that would seem to make it more difficult. Good research!
Pretty slick of Podesta and company to use Stein as the tool.
Her puppetmaster Hillary has the money though.
Wonder how much the Clinton campaign is paying her?
Same here for northern Michigan. I drove/helped some elderly to vote so I was able to visit many voting places. All said they were record-setting overwhelmed, had voters showing up who had not voted in the last 2-4 elections, etc.
This place is carrying heaven. The NRA got these folk out to vote and they were PO'd to come in their camo.
Hunting season here is so popular that many businesses just close for opening week. It is rated as highly as Christmas in healthcare if you want a week off work.
No one in northern Michigan was going to let Hillary take their rifles.
“She is a non factor and this will go nowhere.”
Does Stein even have standing to request a recount considering her low percentage of votes? IIRC, in some states a recount can only be requested by a candidate whose percentage is so close to the winner’s percentage that a recount could possibly change the outcome. No recount is going to make Stein the winner. (Don’t know if this is true any more. It’s been 30 years since I worked elections.)
I want all the Illegal Invader Votes invalidated and those who Voted arrested, charged, put on Trial, sent to Prison and deported after they serve their time.
It’s OK, I’ll wait...
What ARE the chances of Clinton winning the election, after all? I want to know before the Thanksgiving holidays are ruined.
She is not even close to winning and that’s why this is BS.
Zero.
The election is over.
All the more reason to keep fighting for NC Gov race, where a legit recount had been filed, and exposing all the vote fraud there. Then reverting to birth binary bathrooms everywhere!
Thanks (sigh).
You never can tell with these crazy American politics.
Michigan law states a margin of 2000 votes or less to permit a recount. So that avenue is lost.
Stein has no standing nor can she prove to a judge in pre-trial that she has incurred injury for that judge to recommend to proceed with such a case. This for every state.
For what. No recount could help her. Request won’t be honored.
Dems are effing hypocrites to the 3rd dimension.
Soros would fund this!
Thanks (sigh).
You never can tell with these crazy American politics.
Gee, Jill. Why the sudden interest in states that would help Clinton win and not you?
What are the chances a proxy for the Clinton Foundation funds these “investigations?”
Zackly.
I doubt they get a single recount but it gives them all something to be re-disappointed about and gives them new incentive to burn some more liberal cities....
I'd say the Greens here have about the same chances at overturning a presidential election as the Birthers did 8 years ago.
She'd have to overturn the results in three states. At best, they might be able to find 11,000 votes in Michigan from the 87,000 undervotes. Wisconsin? Nope. Pennsylvania? Not a chance. Enjoy your turkey. This ain't going to go anywhere.
