I watched "The Incredibles" for the first time in awhile on TV earlier this week. Depending on the 5 year old, it might be OK. My kid was about the same age when he saw it, and was stuck to the screen.
Of course, one of the characters looks, acts, and talks just like he does. So that might have had something to do with it.
