Kind of reminds me of the New Black Panther party who patrolled the Philli election locations.

Any over reach of authority, whether they are on their own turf or not is inappropriate. It should be shut down and they should be reminded this is not their call to harass citizens.

I am quite sure that the majority of your Turkish community have integrated well to customary German culture. However, when the gov’t basically ‘ok’ this type of behavior, it only encourages them. Someone is going to get hurt - people have already been hurt by this type of behavior whether they are wearing orange vests or not. You know this all too well since you live in Germany. In Cologne last New Years is a prime example.

These are just a few reminders

Koln is an interesting episode. 600 police reports about robbery, sexual assault, or groping. Cops totally embarrassed by their dismal failure. Politicians should have been fired. Massive plan underway in five weeks for the next New Year’s Eve, with probably 500 cops/fire-men around the downtown area, and a fair portion fenced off and you have to enter through a gate area.

When you go back and examine all of the Koln affair...you come to three interesting things. First, there’s a heck of a lot of North African guys who are into the drug trade of Koln and surround urban regions. Cops know this....they’ve noted this growing problem for three or four years...prosecution and judges aren’t willing to handle the cases.

Reserve cops? They were moved weeks prior to Bavaria to bulk up border issues and refugee handling there. So the city were bare-bones prepared for that one evening. Someone should have been fired. In the end....just the chief of police was fired.

Generally, when you and find crime statistics...everyone wants to get hyped up because crime has soared in the past decade (long before the Syrians ever arrived). The cops tend to look at five groups (the North African drug traders, the gypsies, the Romanian and Bulgarian break-in gangs, and the Russian car-theft mafia). There is no trend or data which shows the Iraqis or Syrians as problems or criminals. A handful have been ISIS thugs, but the bulk (99-percent) aren’t issues.

In my little village of 4,000 people....it’s upscale. For years...cars were never stolen. Last year, roughly 15 cars were stolen (one just around the block from my place). These aren’t Hondas or Toyotas....these are all upscale Audis or BMWs. They cross the border and head off to Russia to resell there. Cops know the strategy, but they don’t have the quantity of cops do the job anymore (manpower cuts of the 1990s). So they are recruiting and adding more cops...maybe in three years, we will see a change.

The Turk community in Germany is in a stage of evolution. Half are pro-Erdogan and half are anti-Erdogan. Toss in the Kurds, and you got a potential mess. If you go and ask any Turk who is twenty-five and working....zero chance they will ever stay attached to Turkey or care about the politics there.
