What you typically find on salads are dried cranberries, not fresh. Drying concentrates the sugar. And most dried cranberries have extra sugar added on top of their natural sugar content.
So, as I say, cranberries on salads tend to be unhealthy sugar bombs. Nuts, on the other hand, are relatively low carb and are full of healthy fats that moderate the carbs that they do have.
That’s why it’s smart to skip the cranberries but enjoy the nuts, bacon, and cheese.
