So now we have liberal talking points for Thanksgiving dinner??? Are these people demented in the head?????
LOL
I can only speak for myself, but my family and friends tend to celebrate Thanksgiving, in the spirit of giving thanks for all of the good things in our lives.
My group skews conservative and traditional, however, above all, there is a feeling that there is a time and place for everything. I would be surprised if anyone brings up fears of a Trump presidency.
While I know some in my group did not like Trump during the campaign, I would be shocked if anyone would whip out talking points such as this, to try to persuade anyone on political issues at Thanksgiving.
Q1: Are you concerned about how afraid people, specifically people of color, are feeling?
A1: "Not in the slightest. Not even one, wee little bit. They should suck it up and get on with life."
Q2: What would you do if you were an immigrant or Muslim person?
A2: "If that person immigrated legally, I'd go about my daily business as any other American would do. If that Moslem person is here to establish a global caliphate, go on a jihad, or blow things up, I'd hightail it back to my desert sh!thole and hump a camel or goat before Trump finds me."
Who is paying for this “hotline?”

My take......”Ok, you guys had 8 years of Clinton, we then had 8 years of Bush (not all that great), then you had 8 years of Obama......now it’s our turn.....kind of like “FAIRNESS” is involved.
I intend to hash it out during the “feats of strengths”
These questions could lead to fireworks and people storming out of the house and outrage among any who are liberal.
Do we have concerns about minorities feeling fear? No. There is no evidence that Trump is a racist. He’s had a good record of dealing with minorities, promoting minorities in his businesses. Here we would pierce the liberal premise that Trump is some kind of bigot. That right there would offend the sensibility of the liberal posing such questions.
How would I feel if I were Muslim? I would be against terrorist infiltration of immigrant or refugee populations. Again, I would reject the liberal premise, that somehow questioning Muslims entering this country is somehow a form of bigotry. That too, would offend the sensibility of the liberal.
I know my sister (working in the DC metro area for a defense contractor) came home over the summer (I didn’t see her at Chriistmas as I was ill) with talking points about how great taxes are - they let her and everyone she knows have nice jobs, nice homes, nice cars, etc. I was EXTREMELY offended by that! I told her that too, and that that money came from taxes I and the people I know are paying, and she said “I know!” and went of on some other talking point. In the past, she always had ‘feelings’ about who to vote for, but could never defend her position against my DH and I. That time though, it was like she had rehearsed talking points so offensive, they would stun us into silence.
Everyone I’ll be celebrating Thanksgiving with have been happily celebrating since about 10:00 pm November 8, 2016!
If someone tries this and I’m there, I’m just going to aim the old mashed potato catapult at their face :)
Remember “pajama boy” ads telling young millenials to talk to their parents about Obamacare two or three years ago?
Liberals see it as a right, no, obligation to inject politics into everything.
I’ve got all my family around the dinner table in an intimate setting? They see it as a trapped audience to lecture to about politics, akin to affiliate marketing or conversion to one’s faith.
