Syracuse, N.Y. -- It's been snowing for 38 straight hours in Syracuse, and there's more to come.
The National Weather Service station at Hancock International Airport has been recording snow since 3 a.m. Sunday, when rain switched over to light snow.
From then until 4 p.m. today, at least 18.9 inches of snow has fallen, and Syracuse could get another 4 inches.

We (Toronto) got at most an inch. The place here has a dusting which the wind has mostly blown off. The windchill was much more of a problem yesterday than the snow. I’ll keep you updated when we actually get a heavy dump. :)
I feel for you and sincerely hope that you have plenty of food and supplies socked away. Good day to catch up on sleep or, if so inclined, build a snowman.
It seems they've already been waiting for at least 2280 minutes and it still hasn't changed.
More proof that the Earth is warming. Or the climate is changing or something like that.

Due east of Lake Ontario is the snow belt in NY. Because of lake effect snow, areas east of the lake get routinely CLOBBERED.
You will notice that in the Adirondack area the roof angles are greatly increased.
Buffalo, located due east of Lake Erie, gets alot more snow than Rochester. Rochester is just far enough away from Lake Erie and is south of Lake Ontario. While they still get a bunch of snow, nothing like Buffalo.
Having been born and grown up in Rochester living there for 30 years, I have seen plenty of snow. Having lived in Ithaca, NY (The City of Evil) for the past 35 years, we get a lot less snow. It’s a colder here, but less snow.
This current storm dumped about 20 inches here. I live in the attached Town of Enfield at a higher elevation (1112 ft), and usually get more snow than in the city, which is in the valley (382 ft).
I didn’t use my snowblower at all last year, looks like I will be using it more this year (when I finally get it started).
One year I remember it snowed for bow season (Oct 1) and the ground was WHITE until spring!
Ya just never know here, in the Southern Tier of NY.
I wonder if that might be why the 10th Mountain Division is headquartered there! :-)
Temperatures on Jan. 26, three days before the blizzard began, dipped to a record low of minus 26 degrees. Some 42.3 inches of snow fell on Syracuse from Jan. 29 to Feb. 1, but most of it came down Jan. 30 and 31.
We got about 60 inches in the 'burbs. I found my way to Cali not many years later and bid such things adieu.
We'd prefer that you keep that information to yourself!
Sorry...sometimes I get all juvenile.
The mailbox was a vital safety line for Mom and Dad. Helpful neighbors would drop packs of coffin nails in the mailbox when we were snowed in. My sister and I had to trudge to the end of our unplowed and impassable subdivision to retrieve them.
And you traded it for droughts,brush fires,water rationing,earthquakes and Mexicans.I'll take blizzards,thank you very much!
Be thankful the Swedes aren’t in charge of snow removal!
What? The neighbors were all out of cyanide capsules?
It sure lost its novelty for my Grandpa. He dropped dead in his driveway while shoveling it. RIP, Opa. Moving snow is not for the weak of heart.

After the game seemed to have no winner in sight, Clark said, "If you can show low, you win." In response, Cooley turned up the deuce of clubs (the lowest possible card) and replied, "Show low it is."
As a tribute to the legend, Show Low's main street is named "Deuce of Clubs" in remembrance.

I’m just east of Syracuse and another band has just moved in. It’s snowing pretty good now.
Democrats lied about global warming and this is going to be on historically bad winter...
