WATCH: Good Guys Miss Suicide Bomber at First… Seconds Later Bright Comes Crashing Down

In the video posted to YouTube, titled, “ISIS Suicide Bomber FACE French group in Syria near al Raqqah (ENGLISH SUBTILES !)” it is reported that the men guiding the missiles are aiming at ISIS targets.

In the video you can see a car, presumably with a suicide bomber behind the wheel, driving toward the camera and a several blasts that seem to be missing the vehicle. Someone shouts, in what is believed to be Kurdish, subtitled “Prepare the Milan.”

A Milan is a European anti-tank guided missile, like our TOW. The Milan appears to have missed, my guess is that small arms fire set off the blast.

Which was an impressive blast, to say the least.

The Milan is a shoulder fired anti tank missile, which assumedly, works just fine against a suicide bomber driving a vehicle. I surmise that either the missile missed and another one was fired, or after it missed it came back. Maybe a FReeper weapons expert can weigh in here.

Here is a video demonstrating the firing of the Milan. It is fired at approximately the 49 second mark, and does not display what, if anything, it hit after it was fired.

It's a feel good story about a successful suicide bomber. The bomber is driving a vehicle packed with explosives. Then a missile, also packed with explosives, mixes its explosives with the explosives of the bomber's vehicle. It's a spectacular moment of OVERACHIEVEMENT! Yay! Bomber gets a safety pin and a participation trophy!

The Milan looks like a French wireless version of the old TOW missile

Since it is ground based and line-of-sight it probably was not the second missile that came down from above.

Perhaps a helicopter was nearby and launched the kill missile?

I think it’s very possible that a missile from another source could have been fired, and very likely a drone or helicopter.
