I’m getting a can for my mom, and putting it in a bowl where you can still see the can creases in the cranberry gel! She loves that! But she will eat the fancy stuff too, I am sure.

Now I want to bake that version of apple pie too! I haven’t done a lattice in a long time.

Of course, it has to go in a beautiful cut crystal bowl ;-)
(That’s what my Grandmother did.)

The legend goes that one year Ocean Spray decided to can the cranberry sauce sans the ridges.....but there was such a consumer outcry, they had to reinstate the ridged cans.

All the divine little ridges are there.

Gotta give Ocean Spray credit for trying---one year they canned it in a glass mold,

Oooh! How did I miss the glass mold?
I never realized how important those ridges are! I’ve often thought of slicing it in slabs and arranging on a platter; but I guess that just won’t do...
Re: Holiday items in Glass: I’m not finding the Kraft cheese spreads in the tiny glass jars in the store this year; has anyone seen them?
Like these - I especially like the Blue Cheese:

LOL! I don’t think I ever saw those.
My first (plastic) camera came from sending out boxtops from boxes of hot chocolate. Worked a little better than a Holga, and I loved it ;-)

Didn’t the whole ‘depression’ glass fashion start out as something given away? My Granny collected the pink, and I still have some of it.

There was a cherished episode of the The Mary Tyler Moore Show, where somehow Mary convinced Mr. Grant to have party at his place. She arrives to help him set up ; as she opens his cupboards she discovers he doesn't have enough drinking glasses for guests. Relying on Mary's advice on how to give a perfect party, Mr. Grant replies that he wasn't sure if he could eat enough jelly in time to get ready.
The look on her face was epic TV. :)
