President-elect Donald Trump has been deeply impressed with Senator Jeff Sessions, his transition team said on Thursday of the longtime supporter who is under consideration for secretary of defense and attorney general. "While nothing has been finalized and he is still talking with others as he forms his Cabinet, the president-elect has been unbelievably impressed with Senator Sessions and his phenomenal record as Alabama's Attorney General and U.S. Attorney," the team said in a statement.

I could see Sessions wanting an actionable job like AG after being hamstrung in the Senate so long.

My Senator Sessions . . . light years ahead of Shelby. He is a first rate conservative patriot. Probably a little old for SCOTUS. Would be a superb AG and would do fine as SOS. I think I had rather see him as AG.

Sessions is a good man. He hitched his wagon on principle, not expediency and not for personal benefit.

Be still my heart. Sessions is an exceptional man. Don’t let his Southern ways fool you for a second. His legal reasoning is sharp and principled. He’s a great thinker and would clean the DoJ swamp to boot. Plus, he’s got a dry sense of humor.
I would prefer him to Rudy for this. I’d rather Rudy at DHS.

Kissinger may be good for occasional counsel via teleconference, but I would think he was far too old to be assigned any official duty. The man is 93 Year Old. Ninety Three!!
