What you see as debased I see as hilarious. Really you guys just need to stop whining. Me watching Bad Santa 2 on Thanksgiving has ZERO impact on your life, much like how you watching those crappy Burl Ives claymations has zero impact on mine. Enjoy Christmas your way, I’ll enjoy it mine, we both win.
I read it, meh.
Was that Miracle on 34th Street?
Ever read the Dickens story? Or see the Alaister Sim version? It’s the least sappiest around.
Because it’s beautifully crafted and acted?
Yeah I read it. Meh. Jerk learns not to be a jerk just doesn’t do it for me.
Floating around the internet is a list of the differences between democrats and republicans. One item on the list is “best Christmas movie.” For democrats, they list “It’s a Wonderful Life” and for republicans, they put “Die Hard.” It cracks me up every time I see it.
Well individual transformation is the basis of a lot of fiction...
Individual transformation is fine. But the jerk to not jerk transformation has always been one I find monotonous at best. The Grinch was always one of my least favorite Dr Seuss stories as a kid too. Add in a crippled kid and “God bless us everyone” and I just can’t get away from that story fast enough
Dickens pretty much invented Christmas as we know it. The sappier aspects of it coming along with that.
Yup, between Dickens and Rockwell they pretty much embody everything about Christmas that makes me want to puke. I also hate the default saccharine Christmas music too. Gimme a Joe Lansdale zombie movie and some AC/DC, that’s Christmas at my house.
:)
Sigh, they don’t make movies like that anymore
