How about just dumping the school lunch program and most of the rest of federal education funding/control? If states and cities want to have tiny nouvelle cuisine lunches that leaves students eating their pencils by 2:00, that is their business. If they want to have big farmers' lunches, that is their business too.
The AP never thinks in those terms. Always in terms of big government dictates out of DC.
How about making school lunches the baby-drool overcooked mac & cheese like when I was a kid. Make it “All You Can Eat”. Then let the program die from lack of interest...
