Warren On Trump Protests: People Are Upset And Have The Right To Have Their Voices Heard
RCP Video ^ | 11-11-2016 | Ian Schwartz

Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren talks with Rachel Maddow about the election of Donald Trump, what non-Trump voters can do to assuage their despair, and the path forward for Democrats.

Transcript, via MSNBC: (snip)

MADDOW: "..... People are very, very upset. And I keep hearing, you can't move to Canada, you can't go into your shell, you can't be despondent, you have to fight. But fight how?

WARREN: " ..... his entire campaign was fueled on racism and bigotry, attacks on women, attacks on African-Americans, attacks on Latinos, attacks on Muslims, attacks on people who were disabled. I mean, it was one attack after another.

And that means we have to think about what this means for America and where we go forward right now. .... that Donald Trump brought a kind of bigotry to the fore that we've never seen so publicly in our politics or at least not in a very, very, very long time.

(snip)

Warren: "Look, people are upset and they're right to be upset. This is our country, and people have a right to have their voices heard. ....

We have a right to be heard, but we also have an obligation to listen. You know, part of what happened on Tuesday is what Donald Trump offered up with this kind of toxic stew of bigotry, but there were millions of people across this country who voted for him not because of that bigotry but in spite of that bigotry.

A United States Senator, who has limited understanding of our Constitution and how government is supposed to function.

You make your voice heard in an election. Once you participated in an election, you abide by the result.

Where in the Constitution says you have a right to be upset and start protesting/rioting?

Let them break out her car window while she’s stuck in the middle of the mob and see what she says about it then.

These are anarchists. Not protesters. This is anarchy. Not a democracy. The republic was heard on Nov 8. That’s how a civilized country elects officials. Get over it, get a job, go away.

Didn’t you Democrats learn your lesson that last time you tried to use violence to overturn an election you lost?

Limited skill in understanding the English language. Idiot Warren doesn’t know the difference in “protest” and “riot”.

Yup, the entire campaign was built on racism and sexism and she still failed. Thank God.

Isn’t she the brilliant, intellectual, smarter-than-anybody, Progressive genius who spouts brilliant, intellectual, Progressive tidbits of absolutely smart wisdom, who’s also
a noble, saintly, holier-than-anyone, superior individual?

Just asking.

They don’t have a right do property damage or to obstruct traffic or commerce.
If they do, they should go to jail.
If they resist arrest ...

She forgot attacks on mainstream, middle class people who are only trying to raise their families without having to pay $24k out of pocket before one single medical expense is paid by their insurance.

Hey, Crockajawea, “they” have the right to have their “voices heard”, but that does not entail destruction of private or public property, assault and battery or blocking highways.

What “they” should do is grow up and get lives.

They absolutely have the right to scream and have a fit. I absolutely have the right to completely ignore them and put them in leg irons if they break the law.

I wonder what her view of the tea party protests were? I’m guessing they were greedy white racists.

The theme really is: either you are liberal or racist.
