In the time of the Roman Empire, when a General won a major battle for Rome, he would hire or press an Auriga into service. An Auriga was a slave, albeit a very literate one, who would whisper into the General's ear "Memento homo"(remember you are only a mortal man) during the celebrations and processions.
I will serve as Free Republic's Auriga, today.
While I am ELATED that Donald Trump has seemingly cinched victory, I am forced to remind us all that America has just entered it's most dangerous time in the entire history of the country.
The most dangerous time in Americas history starts tomorrow and ends on Jan 20, 2017.
Obama still is in power. He can create a lot of chaos. He can even start a nuclear war.
We are victors on the battlefield. But, I whisper, "Remember, we are only mortal men."
As an even more somber Auriga, I say the battle is going well,, but it is not yet over.
True. Very true.
Ping.
It’s a dangerous time to be a democRAT. Your days are numbered, parasites.
Drain the f###king swamp!
Very wise words my friend.
Obama has made it clear he has no intention of handing over power to Trump. He will not hesitate to create a crisis and declare martial law.
Mr Trump must play the next few hours, days and weeks very wisely
OH SHUT UP LAZZY LET US HAVE THIS MOMENT! GEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZ!
If Trump wins, say goodbye to your black friends: A modest proposal

Excellent post, Laz. Excellent.
Happy belated birthday.
I agree Laz. However, if Congress did their freaking job, they could mitigate the risk.
Reggie been whispering “you are a homo” in Obozo’s ear for some time now. Hopefully he will take solace in his arms and play with each other for the next few months and forget what damage he might cause.
Now the real works begins.
This was the Easy Part.
That greatly concerns me, that so many Americans would vote for her.
But let's enjoy the night, though!
For over a thousand years Roman conquerors returning from the wars enjoyed the honor of triumph, a tumultuous parade. In the procession came trumpeteers, musicians and strange animals from conquered territories, together with carts laden with treasure and captured armaments. The conquerors rode in a triumphal chariot, the dazed prisoners walking in chains before him. Sometimes his children robed in white stood with him in the chariot or rode the trace horses. A slave stood behind the conqueror holding a golden crown and whispering in his ear a warning: that all glory is fleeting.
Amen to what you wrote!
Good advice.
Eight frikkin years of BO and you’re the master of the countdown even, don’t piss rain on our corn flakes parade man!!!
Arugula, not a big fan, bitter herb. But agree with the dangerous time stuff. God Bless America.
