If you tuned in to the George Putnam Show on KIEV at 870 kilocycles on the AM dial at noon in the latter half if the 1970's and into the 1980's, this is what you would hear:

Harry Nilson:
Everybody's talking at me.
I don't hear a word they're saying,
Only the echoes of my mind...

George Putnam:
Yes, everybody's talking at you, now it's your turn to talk back. You at home and you here at our studios at the Arco Plaza, it's your turn to talk back. We're going to bring you the news, bring you newsmakers and celebrities, but most of all, we're going to talk with you.

“George Putnam Show on KIEV”

the secret radio meeting place of SoCal conservatives. I bet you even remember Terry Anderson getting his start as a caller.

Good God how I miss George! Chuck Wilder introed with “The original Talk Back with George Putnam”. Then the Voice of Thunder himself got it going for the next two hours, commercials and all.

Do you remember how, when Rush first went nation wide, George would call him “that Limbago fella on the left”? Because KFI 640 was to the left on the dial from KIEV! George was the best.
