I appreciate and value your thoughts. Any more that you have to offer on this subject would be most welcome. I think you and I are in general agreement. If, in fact, he participated in any way in terrorist activities, I am not sympathetic.

On the other hand, Erdogan is rounding up everyone imaginable following the attempted coup. As I read the news, he is using the opportunity to take an especially hard line on Kurds. The restaurant owner has been in the US (legally) for a quarter-century, raised children, operated a successful business, and presumably been a model resident. I would be inclined to make sure that he has full due process before turning him over to the powers that be in Turkey right now.

I know of people when I lived up there that really went to bat for him. The whole Berrien County community was there to support him...maybe I am being too critical or just don’t trust people. I guess time will tell.
