First Lady Michelle Obama got a taste of Ina Garten’s cooking when they filmed an episode of Barefoot Contessa at the White House earlier this month.
In a clip released from the upcoming one-hour special episode, Barefoot in Washington, Garten spoke with Obama about what she and President Barack Obama will do once they leave the White House.
“I know it’s going to be wonderful for you. You’re going to do something extraordinary going forward,” Garten said to Obama.
Obama, who appears to share a universal dream to attend one of Garten’s dinner parties, replied, “Yeah, I’m going to come and eat at your house. So don’t be surprised.”
Garten said she hoped the Obamas are “going to take a really long, really romantic vacation,” once leaving office.
Garten was visiting the White House to attend the official White House Kitchen Garden dedication. She and Obama shared a plate of veggie tarts and salad wraps using vegetables from the White House garden, People reported.
“You’ve inspired girls all over the world, including me, so thank you,” Garten told Obama.
The episode airs Nov. 5 at 1 p.m. ET on the Food Network.

Ina Garten is every bit as despicable as moosechelle Garten was too busy to meet a 6-year-old boy stricken with leukemia who requested a cooking session with her through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. She turned him down, twice.
Somehow I don’t think that’s Michelle’s real hair.

Did you know Michelle grew all those vegetables herself? And she surprised Ina with her very own tea cake recipe that Ina liked so much she asked Michelle if she could include it in her next book. Michelle will have to ask her mother, since it is an old family tradition that her great grandmother started. Her daughters, Malaria and Shalaria, are also learning to make them, blah, blah, blah.
And the phoniness continues...
I think Ina used to work in DC for the govt. when Clinton was president.

Not into Barefoot Contessa’s slop. She creams everything in mayonnaise it seems— including the OBlahMao’s.
I’ve never cared for Ina. Knew there was something not right with her. Far too many gay friends. Now I see why the remote automatically changes the channel.
Did she bring her ludicrous coterie of gay guys?
She’s a good cook, though.
She worked in the Ford administration. By the time Clinton came along she bought Barefoot Contessa in East Hampton
