I remember on 911 seeing on one of the NY channels (probably CH 5) in the late afternoon, WHEN SUPPOSEDLY ALL THE U.S. AIRSPACE WAS SHUT DOWN, a U.S. Government plane landed at La Guardia Airport in NY and the two NY Senators disembarked from the plane.

At the time, I puzzled WTF? because all the airspace was shut down? Then I realized that was not for the Exempt Elite, two democrat senators; Hitlery Clinton and Upchuck Shooomer were the passengers!

That would have been an official US Gov’t aircraft on official business. The airlines were grounded for fear of more hijackings, not because it was unsafe for aircraft to be in the air.
