Ilya Eckstein, CEO of Robin Labs, whose platform helps drivers find the best route and handle logistics said: 'People want to flirt, they want to dream about a subservient girlfriend, or even a sexual slave.
'It may just be more for laughs, or something deeper underneath the surface.'

'They really need an outlet - to be meeting people and having sex, but I'm not judging.'
And there is even a small number of users looking to find an AI partner.
'You see some people try very hard to establish a relationships with the bot.
'Some users are amazingly stubborn in that sense.'

Dennis Mortensen, from x.ai, which has designed a male and female scheduling assistant, said: 'I don't think as an industry we've agreed that to humanize our agents is the best thing to do.'

People fall in love with photographs, I guess they can fall in love with voices. I have heard a (very) few telephone operators who sounded so good I wanted to ask them out, but Siri never did it for me. Anyway, the voice never matches the face.

I hate Siri . . . she is sooooo stupid. I ask her for simple stuff and she tries to send me to attorney’s offices. She can’t get anything right! Nothing like those silly commercials where it looks like talking to her is the same as having an intelligent adult conversation.
I put it down to her being a girl - but I think if I changed her to a male voice - it wouldn’t get any better.

First time I heard Siri I thought that woman could talk a polar bear out of his fur coat with that voice. Zooks. I turned to my brother, whose phone it was, and said that she was hitting on him.
A lot of people are tired with the poor pickings and getting burned again and again.
