Gary’s “plan” seems to have numerous flaws, not the least of which is that should neither major candidate reach the magic 270 number, the House would be free to choose, from many sources, their pick for POTUS. It’s not as though the available choice would be between him and Stein.

According to the Constitution, Congress is supposed to choose between the top three electoral vote-getters.
Possibly, Representatives might vote for whoever they like, but it wouldn't be what the Constitution prescribes.
FWIW: right now people are talking about McMullin carrying Utah and being the #3 electoral vote-getter.
It's more likely that a faithless elector might give Johnson (or McMullin or somebody else) an electoral vote.
In 1972, the first Libertarian candidate got one electoral vote from a faithless Republican elector.
Something like that could happen again.
