Thanks for the info and advise. Mini splits are apparently common in RV's in Australia and Europe but have yet to catch on here for whatever reason. They're regarded as well-suited for solar by people who know, one of whom I'm not but I'm working on it. The size of the solar array for any sort of A/C is a challenge for RV application though, as I understand it thus far/
By the way, I was under the impression that this Senville unit that caught my eye was Japanese for some reason, it has at least one Toshiba component in it.
Just from the very low power consumption of the variable speed compressors in the mini split should make it an excellent candidate for solar power...sorry I cant help on the sizing questions.
I’m just not familiar with the Senville brand..I’d go with LG, Mitsubishi, Sanyo...those are probably the most widely used brands. All will have the equivalent of the Senville units. Support on those brands will be superior, and support can be critical when operating problems arise.
Of course they will probably be 20% more expensive.
