Strangely, I think it’s quite possible that Huma didn’t knowingly lie about giving back all classified data. It seems possible to me that she (or someone) inadvertently set up her mail client to download all email data to all of her computers, and forgot or didn’t realize that this was still active on Weiner’s laptop.
Of course, even if it isn’t an outright lie, or worse yet, intentional espionage by deliberately leaving this information exposed, it is stunning incompetence and gross negligence. It only highlights why the stringent security protocols for classified information were created and put into place.
And, then there’s the content: If anything that was tossed as being Hillary’s yoga, wedding, or grandma files turns out to be relevant, Hillary is toast.

Correct you are. I suspect it was an SSL connection through Outlook, the most common mail client in use. That would have downloaded the mail to a local file on each of her devices running Outlook. The resulting file has the PST extension and is moderately well hidden on the computer. Anyone with some computer skills can recreate the account in Outlook and attach the existing PST file to it, giving them access to all of the emails contained in it.
Apple devices would have done a partial download to include the last 30 days, or some such term in that range of time.
She probably used Wiener’s PC to check her mail on occasion, causing the download and continual updates whenever the computer was running.
These people appear to be relatively computer illiterate but not stupid. It is easily possible that she had no idea the file was there. It is very unlikely she would not have destroyed the file if she knew it existed. Even if she was keeping a backup blackmail file, she would have put it on a thumb drive and put that in a safe place.
You may be right, but Abedin could just be stonewalling. They always get away with I didn't know or I don't recall.
Assuming that she is really computer illiterate and doesn't know how email clients work, an astonishing number of the emails found on Weiner's computer had state.gov and Clinton email addresses. So Abedin brought home her work with her and did not safeguard it. Intent or no?
650,000 emails is an astonishing amount. Was the Clinton email server used as a "dropbox" like Petraeus and Broadwell set up?
If you stand back and look at all of the characters involved in this....have any of them shown any IT talents or understanding of setting up email accounts or back-up files?
I can’t point at a single individual in Hillary’s inner circle with such talents.
So, I’m wondering who exactly did they hire to do all this work, and was there any plan or strategy to this? I have my doubts. I think they just hired some guy who had some bare certificates and a year or two of experience at this....and told him to do A, B, and C. And that’s what he did.
I doubt if Huma ever guessed that a copy of her business was going to Wiener’s laptop/CPU. From the description of the size, I’d say it’s the complete email account for the whole four years. If so....Wiener probably did something unknowningly....and has saved the nation. I’d offer the guy a pardon if I were Trump....but he’d have to promise never to run for any office ever again.
That’s possible but Huma would have needed to strip off the classification headers to forward them. Same would be true if she tried to print them out.

IF (as Reported) these files were actually stored in a Folder named “Life Insurance” there is little doubt Hillary and a bunch of other folks are toast.
I wish the FBI would run a search of the 650,000 emails for the word “yoga” just to see if there it’s even mentioned.
I call BS. She purposefully downloaded State Department emails from a secured server to an unsecured server and emailed it to her Yahoo account. She is in deep trouble. You and I would be wearing orange.
