Nothing like a millionaire praising a socialist nihilist utopia he chose not to live. But ...Imagine has to tie with....Muskrat Love!

Musically it's a very beautiful song.
Some people pay more attention to lyrics and obviously the lyrics are going to divide people, to begin with religious people and atheists.

Imagine is very annoying. But I don't despise it as much as the hippie ditty "Signs, Signs, Everywhere a Sign". Whenever that pops up on the radio I change stations. But not before imagining the long haired freaky people singer standing boldly at my fence line bracketed in the crosshairs of my rifle scope. "Here's a sign for you, a$$hole".

Lest we forget the damage done to the moral fabric of our nation by Satan's minstrels, here are the lyrics to "Imagine" by John Lennon. A song still prominently played at most major venues and poignant to all but those who actually understand its horrifying "fundamentally transformed" implications...
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you will join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
You, you may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you will join us
And the world will live as one

Led Zeppelin Stairway to Heaven Most badly copied maybe, but the original is a masterpiece.
FWIW, I rarely listen to lyrics.

One man’s treasure is another man’s garbage. I’ve never liked “Imagine” - the lyrics are insipid, the music is boring - but it’s not the worst song ever made. There are so many bad songs to choose from. Off the top of my head, “Surfin’ Bird” is pretty atrocious. It pretty much makes “Full Metal Jacket” unwatchable for me, as much as I like the rest of the movie.
