That is very sad to hear! My father's parents owned an orange grove outside of Sarasota. As a young man, he hitchhiked from there to Bristol, TN, to attend King College in preparation to go to Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, VA. He became a Presbyterian minster and served various churches in NC for over 30 years. His first church was in Crossnore which is Avery County in the Blue Ridge Mountains of NC. A DAR School is located there and has been operating continuously since 1913. The school was founded by the famous Dr. Mary Martin Sloop and her husband whose story is told in the book Miracle in the Hills. Crossnore is where he met my mother who had gone to Junior College in Statesville, NC, where Mary Martin also went to school. My mother ended up moving to Crossnore to work as an OJT nurse for Dr. Sloop. She met my father and they were married four months later. I came along MUCH later in 1950. I miss both my parents so much, but I am sometimes glad that they did not live to see what has become of what was founded as a Christian nation!

Just got back from church and read your response. I hear you about missing your parents. Both of my parents went to be with Jesus in 2013 and both World War II Veterans. I too am glad that they are not here to witness what this country, for which they served, has become.
