Probably have started less than 10 threads on FR since I officially joined in 1999. Others do such a great job. Hats off especially to 2ndDivisionVet and Kaslin.
I was thinking about after the election and pardons. Thought this deserved a discussion thread today. I would be interested in reading what other Freepers think about future pardons. My thoughts follow.
The Obamas will not (unfortunately) go gentle into that good night. Interesting, isn't it? The Obamas are now on the campaign trail for Hillary, and they now speak of American exceptionalism, after apologizing for it the last 7 1/2 years.
Just Google "Clintons send $1.8 Billion to Qatar"

Well I had to go look it up. So I thought it was about 10 threads, well it is 59, with 5572 replies. How could I have started so many threads?? I start so few because you guys (and others) have it covered.
If a President gives a pardon can a following President rescind it, kind of like an Executive order?
That’s a good question, my first thought is I don’t think so. I think the senate can challenge a president’s pardon.
A Pardon is full and complete for a specific charge and cannot be rescinded by a later President.
The Senate, nor any other body, has approval over the Presidential pardon authority. The Congress (either house) can conduct an inquiry into events and pass resolutions voicing the sense of the House or Senate, but the Presidential Pardon authority resides only with the President.
Thanks!
No.
Richard Milhouse Nixon
That would not be a pardon.
It would be Obstruction of Justice.
