Would You Be The Hero During A Rampage Shooting?
by Michael W LoosActive Shooter New Gunner Journal
USA -(Ammoland.com)- This appears to be one of the most talked about situations, as far as concealed carry is concerned.
For this, I dont believe there is a simple answer. But this is what I tell those who ask.
My job, my one and only job, the only thing Im worrying about is to keep me and mine safe. Thats it. Nothing more, nothing less. If shooting starts, living in Condition Yellow I know where exits are. I know where elevators, staircases and escalators are.
And Im getting me and mine out. Period.
Now that may sound crass to many. It may sound cold and detached, but thats it in a nutshell and I dont owe anyone an explanation.
Everyone has the ability to defend themselves. As a matter of fact, its your personal responsibility to defend yourself not mine, not the Police, not the Governments its yours.
Now with that being said, after my family and friends are safe, then the decision to take on a shooter would depend on the circumstances at that time and at that time they may be undefinable.
It is possible that an active shooter / rampage shooter situation could break out right in front of you and there may be an opportunity to end it right there but what if you miss and are shot, how will your spouse, your children, your grandchildren make it to safety? Or will they be mowed down with the others?
The only situation I believe I would run into headlong, is an active shooter at a school (or anyplace children were present) where I know the Police have not arrived. Then?
Im in. Devil be damned.
Stay Safe and Carry Responsibly,

Those that pretend to know “What Jesus wants” all the time.
It mattwers not how profound the teaching may be if it is totally inapplicable to the situation.
Christianity is a man made religion, that totally fails to follow Yeshua’s and his Father’s commandments, and yet believes that they are still somehow eligible to attend his wedding feast, so I suppose that I must yield to their imagination on what correct behavior therein is.
Now, your injection of outside issues that were not a part of the discussion, like cowardice appears to be the typical boilerplate with which you have a tendency to reinforce your irrelevant rants.

I believe that most if not all of us here in this thread are of an inclination to take action, as long as said action has some reasonable probability of success.
In a high stress situation, our aim may not be as reliable as at the range. If you can find a rest to use, you may be able to do great things.

Yes, stress degrades accuracy.
I agree that most would take action with a reasonable chance of success.
But if you pre-program to not take action, that is more likely what you will do.

So you'll run and save your own ass above all. Got it.

And you won't apply your so-called philosophy to real life. Got it.
We have literally nothing in common, so I'll just say bye.

Your IQ appears to be falling fast.
Unlike you, I will always do whatever I can do without making the situation worse. Killing or injuring innocent bystanders sounds like your MOS.

We don’t “carry not to take action.” That is illogical at its core.

MY CPL is not a commitment to protect and serve anyone besides myself and those I love. If people want to be safe they need to take responsibility for their own safety an get their own CPL. Simple, clear, correct.

“I guess Im agreeing with your assertion that no one can know for sure until the time comes, but its still prudent to have a plan for different contingencies.”
And I agree that having contingency plans is prudent.

Unlike you, I will always do whatever I can do without making the situation worse. Killing or injuring innocent bystanders sounds like your MOS. By all means, run for it. When people fight back against mass murderers, things can get dangerous - and it's their fault, not the mass murderer's. If only they would wait for official instructions, all would be well, but no, they have to go asking what Jesus would do - without the approved certification of decisionmaking authority from an accredited church. So, as the danger of self-defense is clearly not in your personal best interest, it's definitely best if you leave (as soon as you get a good selfie to tweet to show you were there).

Wow Rambo has a FR account! Have you noticed that everyone on this thread but you appears to be sane? I don't call people who throw away Christ's teachings in a crisis "sane."
Your mockery was noted 2,000 years ago in the Bible, it's not new, nor does it interest me.

I carry all the time, everywhere I go. I do not carry in a ‘quick draq’ way since I know if someone targets me in surprise they will likely get me. BUT if I have time to draw my weapon and means to terminate a bad guy/gal, I am committed to do so. At 71, I want to terminate the bad guy so it can’t continue to do unto others, immediately or in some leftists future preceded by a ‘court appearance and release’. ... And I practice as often as I can do so, with a variety of personal tools.

Nobody has thrown away any teachings, and you have no connection to our savior, or his actual teachings. You would abandon people and run and hide when you were armed, because you refuse to recognize protecting them as a divine obligation. Now you attack my faith for pointing that out and declaring it wrong.
We have nothing in common, and you know nothing about Christ. I am not interested in discussing anything with you anymore.
Get thee behind me, coward.

ES is a Michael Rood sycophant ... try to ignore such a source of obstinate ignorance. ES still is unable to see how the Roodian way is works based religion, so he rejects Chrisitanity.

Save your stupid bullcrap for morons like yourself. Youre the only one on this thread, or had you noticed? There is no thread, I'm just replying to your insults. Your rage is understandable - it's hard to justify cowardice. Especially through Jesus, who taught sacrifice and brotherhood. You see that's the difference between us - you're pretending this is a gun thread, when it's actually a Christian faith test thread.
Big mistake. There are fates worse than death.
