Back in the 70's-80's there was a NYPD policewoman known as "muggable Mary". She would dress up as a homeless "bad lady", prostitute, druggie, etc. as a way of catching muggers and rapists. Sure enough, the ACLU sought court injunctions against NYC to end this practice on the grounds that "a mugger should know who he's mugging".

Now, I am not into THIS particular thing, but using that logic, if a police woman is out posing as a prostitute, would they give a "John" the same courtesy, and say, he should know who he is doing the evil deed with?
