Yes, they’re great artists. Not always respected here at FR, unfortunately. Guernica, of course, is at MOMA here in NYC although my husband just said they moved it to Spain. How annoying!

The Spanish are very proud people who have lost a lot of status on the world stage over the last few centuries. Most people forget, Spain and Portugal used to be extremely influential in the western world. In areas of trade and theology. 250 years after the death of Napoleon Bonaparte, France still has not gotten over losing it’s status as the epitome of the civilized world.
