.....and I am sure your ship had fairly modern electronics compared to those lost in the Triangle allowing it to see and dodge aerial and surface weather activity.
Even the cheap model on my Dads Grand Banks and the better I crewed in the CG allowed us to see Sargasso fields on the surface
Most ships lost were long before decent electronic nav gear the last was a Cptn screw up as he never should have been out there.
Aircraft lost had Radar and it was in its infancy but thats about it.
Weird weather pops up unannounced out there and if you can see it it can ruin your day.
