On Tuesday night, at her final state dinner as first lady, Michelle Obama solidified her legacy as perhaps the most adept and successful practitioner of the art of political dressing that any administration has seen.
Her choice of an Atelier Versace gown for the Italy state dinner was not only a nice bit of sartorial diplomacy Versace being an Italian success story, a company often touted as a candidate for a public offering but, coming less than a week after her magnetic speech in New Hampshire on women and respect, it went far beyond being simply an ambassadorial nod to a guest countrys talent and made a powerful subliminal statement.
The dress, after all, was made of rose gold chain mail. As much as it was gracefully cut and draped, it also spoke of armor and female strength, of the need to gird yourself to fight for what you believe in. And it was designed by Donatella Versace, a woman who was famously thrust into one of the most difficult situations of all: having to take over and preserve the company founded by her brother after his murder in Miami. And who, despite a fair number of doubts, has ultimately triumphed in part by transforming the aesthetic of her company from one built on the power of sex to one built on the power of self. (snip)
Especially because Ms. Versace then said, I am humbled and honored to have the opportunity to dress the first lady of the United States, Michelle Obama. Thank you Michelle for all the things you did for America and for the rest of the world, for the women in the U.S. and the rest of the world.

Ms. Versace's quote at the end was gag-worthy. Just another Useful Idiot.
The leftwing “media’s” love affair with the Marxist Obamas continues.
“Thank you Michelle for all the things you did for America and for the rest of the world, for the women in the U.S. and the rest of the world.
WHAT?
Phew! Those are man arms.
And, she apparently dances real good cause she’s black. Well, according to the nyt yesterday. “Twerkin’ My Way Back To You Babe”.
There is no limit below which the NYT will not go.
Once again we have proof that those who pursue journalism and demonstrate no abilities in that area save for low IQ gossip are sure bets to be hired by the NYT.
I hope they’ve checked the White House for stolen copper pipes. Took a lot of them to create that tent for the Wookie
They look like they just had an argument. Probably - “You HAVE to wear this dress for its symbolism” vs.” I HATE this effin dress and this effin country”.
Nothing sends a more powerful message to average Americans than America’s Royalty speaking while wearing a Versace gown.
did Versace design that wig too?
“... Thank you Michelle for all the things you did for America...”
WHAT?????
The only thing I can think of that she did was literally starve American school kids with her idiotic menu selections....
Sometimes “A dress is just a dress”.
Just what I was thinking about her arms. I thought it was photo-shopped at first.
The press has been licking the butts of First Ladies since forever.
It’s all self-promoting crap.
On another thread someone posted the menu.... not exactly what she has dictated be served in the school cafeteria these days.
. I HATE this effin dress and this effin country.
She does not look happy.
Good time to bring up the old subject: Liberals, especially the women, are always angry and upset.
I sit next to a gaggle of Gals here and they are ALWAYS shrill. Always.
I cannot get my mind around this. Its both a lack of relationship with God and being spoiled. IMHO
Oh please shut up!! Nobody every told them to shut up!!
Shushhy.....
There are a slew of pictures in the Mail. Quite an interesting shot of Mooch from the rear. She makes the Kardashians look tiny.
Also photos of the fawning guests..the usual suspects. Chuck Todd looks absolutely effeminate.
The dresses on the women at this event were absolutely horrible. Jerry Seinfeld’s wife and Rachel Ray being the worst.
Beyond Thunderdome.
