Shepard Smith has come out as a gay man in a new interview.

The popular Fox News anchor, who has been with the network since it first launched 20 years ago, spoke about his sexuality in an interview with Huffington Post.

Smith, 52, confirmed the long-circulating rumor when he was asked if it was former Fox News CEO Roger Ailes who prevented him from coming out of the closet.

I stopped watching Smith in the early 2000's. He did an interview for an article, and he came off like a putz. His on-air makeup didn't help.

I actively avoided him after his atrocious Hurricane Katrina coverage.

I eventually stopped watching cable news in general. Having Smith out of eyes, ears, and mind is merely a grain of sugar at best

Shep seems like a decent person, and that is fine with me. Of course I think homosexuality is a sin, but I think we should judge Shep on his on his fairness as a journalist and be done with it.
