I can’t understand why Putin would want Trump in office instead of Hillary.

I would guess because hillary is a muslim sympathizer and probably doesn’t really care if she has an excuse to bomb Russia.
Probably self-preservation. I honestly do not think that Trump wants military action with Russia.
