The democrats always run on personality. They demonize their opponents and idolize their candidates, turning them into syrupy gods and goddesses. Once they have turned their candidate into a god then anything anyone accuses them of, in their minds, cannot, simply cannot be true.

With the overriding help of their media this is the steady diet the American people are fed. Nothing about them that is negative gets through to the average person, while anything, no matter how made up and convoluted about their opponent is poured out on a constant bases to the public.

This is what Donald Trump is up against. In the past our candidates have taken the high road and simply stuck to the issues. The issues were not important because the American people have been conditioned to not even listen to the issues, only the emotional personal stuff.

Stop the BS meme of wanting him to get back to the issues! I hear this so often from so many sources I am sick and tired of it. I have had it. If you don't fight the SOB’s they will surely destroy you. Trump is attacking the smears AND speaking out on the issues. Do you not take the time to listen to his rallies? Tonight he had 20,000 or so in Ohio. Same in Florida. He addressed all of the issues. He does it once or twice every day and at all his rallies. If you rely on MSM reports, no wonder you are depressed since they will never report on Trump's issues.

This is a difficult one. I would think Trump would like to talk issues but the constant attacks bring him back. So the question should be what is his objective.

It is true people are turned off by negative attacks and mud slinging wanting rather to hear the issues. It is also true Hillary can’t win on the issues and must keep it negative.

My opinion at this point is people are tuning out negative news unless they see it in writing or on video. And so Trump should go negative on only those type of stories to respond and then get back to issues.

It is a balancing act an from the last speech it appeared he is trying to do so.

I am still nervous about this upcoming debate. This may be a good opportunity for Trump in the opening statement to challenge Hillary and the Moderator to not go negative with name calling or tabloid news stories and focus on discussing issues.

The swing voters will really appreciate that. Trump just needs to pay attention for the moment Hillary or Wallace goes negative and point it out to the audience. A decision on what to do from that point is fair game.
