I have friends there
This makes them very sad
They loved their King
There are few ways to make an Thai person show anger in public- They consider it very rude.
But insult their King and you would get an ass beating

Rest in Peace.

Arguably, the best King on Earth during his reign.

Staunch defender of Thailand from communist insurrection, during a time when the communists in the region were among the most brutal and destructive of all communists (the killing fields of the Khmer Rouge were right on the Thai border).

Wise and good, Thailand was truly blessed to have him - he made a real difference for the Thai people. A man of real nobility of spirit - a King among Kings.

While the US battled communist despots in Vietnam, King Bhumibol stood like a solid iron anvil, saving his people from the horrible fate that fell upon their neighbors. He was personally instrumental.

Probably a nice guy, but I am damn glad our founders sought to do away with royalty.

He was as eligible to be President as Barack Hussein Obama, born in Cambridge MA.

More eligible than Ted Cruz!

Instability in Thailand could lead to bigger problems in Southeast Asia at a time when China wishes to increase its empire. The USA will need to watch this carefully.

The global economy ‘Black Swan’ event?
Just saying, the death of the leader of a smaller country led to WW1.
